Description
1/72 X-29 ‘NASA’
The X-29 first flew in 1984; within a few months, it was employed by NASA as an experimental research aircraft. A year later, it held the distinction of being the first forward-swept wing aircraft to reach supersonic speeds in level flight. In 1991, the X-29 was retired after a total of 242 flights.
Two surviving examples can be found at the National Museum of the US Air Force and at Edwards Air Force Base.
