Originally, the Highlanders were of the inhabitants of the mountainous regions of Scotland known for their courage and their fierce character. The 78th Fraser Highlanders did the first regiment to serve in the British Army during the Seven Years War in America of 1756 to 1763. After its dissolution, many settled in Quebec. This regiment of infantry of the British army is part of the Scottish Division. During the Second World War, nine battalions are engaged on all fronts. Their particularity is a black beret to red pompon, stripe of a checcurboard white and red. The rest of the uniform is the one in force in the British army, although it sometimes happens that the kilt is worn or even a tartan trousers.
